The study of dsRNA uptake mechanisms in order to apply RNA interference in pest control

In recent years, the possibility to apply RNA interference has been proposed as a new, potential crop protection method. With this research we hope to gain more insight in cell autonomous, environmental and systemic RNAi in certain model pest insects, in order to apply RNAi as a control method.
